a fanlisting

A fanlisting is a group of people who like something: i.e. a group of people who like wolves. All a fanlisting is is a list of fans to do with that particular person, item, or object; it joins together people with similar interests.

okami and amaterasu

Okami is a 2006 game developed by Clover Studio and published by Capcom. It was originally released for the PS2, near the end of its lifetime - it was later ported to the Nintendo Wii in 2008, and a HD remaster was released on the PS3 in 2012, which was in turn ported to all present generation platforms. This furball is one popular and cherished wolf.

Amaterasu is the game's silent protagonist, accompanied by the bug sized, wandering artist known as Issun. Ammy, as he dubs her (it's a mouthful!), is awakened in order to save the land of Nippon, which is slowly succumbing to a seeded darkness. Despite looking like a regular white wolf to most - harking back to the legend of a white wolf that saved a village a thousand years prior - Amaterasu is in fact the sun goddess, and mother to all living things. Her journey also involves the restoration of her strength to combat the night, as a thousand years of slumber does that to you - and slowly but surely, she regains her celestial brush techniques.

Though Ammy doesn't utter a word throughout her endeavour, she never falters nor shies away from her destiny - but it also musn't be forgotten that Ammy is a dog, which makes her extremely loyal and fond of digging holes and food (and also beautiful women). She's an extremely unique and likeable protagonist from an extraordinary game, and I love her quite dearly.
